Once upon a time there was this girl who could not wait to grow up, get married, have babies, live in a big house in the suburbs and host Thursday night bunco games.
And then there’s me.
I believe that grammar and proper spelling is essential for me to understand anything you are saying or writing. Pop is a real word that refers to the sweet sugary carbonated beverages southern people call “sodas.” I am the ultimate optimist. That glass of wine is definitely half full. I welcome mornings with a smile and a push of a button on my Keurig. Small things in life make me happy. Snail mail. A clean pair of socks. Chevrons, or polka dots, or stripes. The clearance aisles. A good sandwich, heavy on the veggies. A new roll of stamps. Great photo ops. That spare hair tie. A good thrifty find. Spray paint. Little girls playing dress-up. M&Ms. Manners. Tattoos.
Okay, tattoos aren’t really small and neither are manners, but I got carried away. Moving on.
Simply put, I’m Dee! Married, with children. Bought a house (not the dream one). Married the guy (the dream one). Four kids, an antisocial cat and my husband in a high demand career doesn’t make home life crazy enough. I want more. Life excites me and depresses me at the same time. I feel like I HAVE to do something while I have motivation and time left on this earth, otherwise I will be left with regrets. I think my kids are the cutest, and also the reason I like wine and beer so much. To thank them for that, I let them ride in the ridiculously huge Cadillac carts at Walmart, while I struggle to navigate around shoppers.
I’ve always wanted to write a book. Admittedly, I don’t relish the feeling of stretching and exceeding the limits of my comfort zone. I’ll do it for the experience and personal growth. (Exhibit A: Sharing this blog with you. It’s all out there now.) Blogging is my creative outlet away from the real big scary world. It keeps me content since I enjoy writing. Plus, I’m allowed to change my content as I please. Besides, I never wrote one page worthy of contacting Danielle Steele for a review. Does she even do page reviews? Don’t worry, this isn’t a steamy romance blog. I dedicated this blog to every triumph and failure of which I am the proud owner. Not claiming to be an expert, I like to try things out and experiment with my creativity. It keeps me busy and makes life interesting. Lessons learned, personal growths achieved, funny stories and all random thoughts and biased opinions are documented here. This is a story of an interesting life. I do hope you stick around as my story unfolds.
Keeping it honest, interesting, and entertaining since 2011.
